The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method

As a SERIOUS WORK Certified Facilitator of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials, I can facilitate a range of customised workshops or intervention programmes.

This method is an open-source facilitation method developed by the LEGO group that builds on extensive research and testing. The process draws on individual and organizational theories of learning to enable engagement and reflection. Exposing existing knowledge in a fun and engaging way, workshops using this methodology can then support new knowledge development and innovation with the help of a trained facilitator. More detail on the method is provided here.

A great introduction to the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials is given in the video below by Marko Rillo, one of the authors of Serious Work. This video outlines the process activated in LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshops whereby playfulness can lead to better solutions, strategy and innovation. If you have some lego bricks to hand you can even build along with the video!

Workshops using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials can facilitate individual or shared ambitions, and are particularly suited to;

  • Individual and collective leadership skills development
  • Exploring core values and behaviours
  • Idea development (e.g. new products, processes or services)
  • Teambuilding
  • Innovation
  • Developing shared vision
  • Strategy

If you are interested in workshops on the above themes using LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® materials or would like a engage in a broader discussion around how they could benefit your business, please get in touch using the contact form below.
